《智慧与魔咒》
这是本格言体裁书,名气不如作者纳西姆·尼古拉斯·塔勒布其他畅销作品(比如《黑天鹅》、《非对称风险》等),但几乎每一条都很精辟,读来也许能让你会心一笑。
作者在序中介绍“何为普罗克拉斯提斯之床”这样解释道:
在希腊神话中,雅典和举行神秘仪式的艾留西斯城之间有一个叫作阿提卡克雷达勒斯的地方,普罗克拉斯提斯(他原名达玛斯忒斯,又名普罗珀蒙,普罗克拉斯提斯是他的绰号,意思是“把人拉长的人”)是这里一个小城邦的主人。他招待客人的方式非常独特:他引诱旅客进门,为他们提供丰盛的大餐,然后邀请他们在一张非常特别的床上过夜。他要求客人的身高与床的长度必须一丝不差。如果客人个子太高,他就用锋利的斧子把他们的腿截短;如果客人个子太矮,他就把他们的身体拉长。
